Does a book about the tank garrison at Tobruk exist?

As it says in the subject line. A book about the seige of Tobruk focused on the tanks, crews, REME staff, etc?

I understand that Rea Leakey was at Tobruk, so George Forty's book might contain a bit of content, but Leakey served with the Australian infantry out of boredom so not that much of the period of the seige would be covered.

There is a short tome by Brig. 'Ant' Willison (the man himself) written about the breakout, after the breakout. I got a copy through his grandson who is now a battalion CO in the Rifles I think, unless he's been promoted in the last two years.

Then there's this, by a retired Major General from the Isle of Manx, whom I helped a bit.

    1941 – 1942

So the short answer is 'no'

    All the best

Maybe 'someone' should sit down and write one...

It would (to me) be an exciting project to work on, but I haven't decided what I'm doing when I actually finish my Archer book. A major concern is how long I can keep on relying on the kindness of certain people in the UK who have provided me with documents.
