    Sheldrake All over the place....

The CWGC lists him as a captain and son OF ADMIRAL SIR WILLIAM WORDSWORTH FISHER, G.C.B., G.C.V.O., AND OF LADY FISHER (NEE WARRE CORNISH), OF HAMPTON COURT PALACE. KING'S SCHOLAR, ETON COLLEGE; SCHOLAR OF CHRIST. Died aged 25 buried in Assisi CWC.

A bright boy - Kings scholar: Not sure about scholar of Christ.

The son of an old sea dog who commanded HMS St Vincent at Jutland and then became director of anti submarine Operations in May 1917 - during the period when convoys were introduced.

The CWGC have not listed his unit as 1 RHA maybe he wasn't serving with the Regiment. There are several RHA graves in Assisi from 1 RHA and 2 RHA which both supported 1st armoured division. 1 RHA had Priests and supported the armoured Brigade and 2 RHA had towed 25 pdrs,

You need a copy of the 1 RHA WD for July 1944.
