Spotted these in a back garden in Blandford.
I wonder how many of these are left around the country?
And who and how they decided on their placement?
They cant of surrounded every military base.

Nice find-Are they anywhere near the Royal Signals base? Quite a few units went to the area around Blandford after Dunkirk.

Any idea where thay came from as it looks like they have been recoverd from at least two sites due to the shape of the concrete mouldings.

They certainly do not look like they are in an original position.

There are still many around in the " second line of defence ".
Plans were made for the invasion which included defendable fall back positions, many of these included tank traps and mined bridges.
I know of a few places " up North " where I am that have second line defences still extant, Helmsley in North Yorks was one such fall back point and to this day still has 'Dragons Teeth ' and mine points in the bridges, unfortunately one of the mined bridges was destroyed in the flooding a couple of years ago but the tank defences are still extant on the Scarborough road ( A170 )

Pretty sure the are in the original positions,i do take your point about the shapes but there is evidence of other tank traps(a converted Ha Ha) nearby.
They are positioned to the west side of Blandford running in a north/south direction.
They are about two miles west of Blandford camp.
Besides that what kinda nut would move them to a garden?
    Cheers
    Rob

    Blandford was an 'Anti-tank Island':

Have you got a detailed location for these blocks?

Might I also recommend the Defence of Britain Project dataset for GoogleEarth?

    Exellent!
I think my "teeth" are.... CUBE (ID: S0000117)
And my Ha Ha is an anti tank ditch.
Thanks for that, the garden in question is subject to a planning application, the neighbours are against it,the teeth may help!!

If the teeth are in thier original location then they will be termed heritage assets and should be recorded on the County Council's Heritage Environment Record. Removal of such assets would be considered carefully by a planning officer if they were aware of it.
