Everyone seems to be assuming he is the original owner however as stated there are a number of possibilities I don't really think anyone's assuming that at all, just conceding it's an interesting thought. I'd assume all here would have 'caveat emptor' at the forefront of their mind when looking at such an item. As we don't know the source of the helmet we can't speculate on the POW aspect, it's a good point that would eliminate certain justifications or stories though, but maybe it came from a Dutch Barn, or an English country house... we don't know.
It could well have been that another FROST obtained the helm after the war, and there is no sign at all that it would be the helm of Lt/Col Frost, but presumable as people see the name frost and arnhem they would think this.
Phil, There's a Qand A on the link which suggests it may belong to Col Frost but the potential bidder says there were a few Frosts at the time in the Paras. Cheers Andy

Cheers Andy And all would have had more than one helmet during there time in the Airborne Divisions, so even if it is Jonny Frosts, it may have no relation to Arnhem at all. P
And ofcourse we don't know who the person is who gave the Q and A,as I can not imagine there is someone around who has ALL the names of those who served in the the Airborne Divisions during the war, I have tried to gather all then names who served at Arnhem, got some 11.000 and that took me 25 years and not even sure, my opinion, nothing to do with arnhem or Lt/Col Frost what soever
Sorry for not posting earlier but I was away but out of interest I watched this and it went for £535......and before anyone asks no I didn't buy it......
