Hello to anyone reading this and happy holidays.

I wasn't a hundred percent sure where to post this in the forumns, but the Fleet Air Arm would best fit with "War at Sea" I would say.

My grandfather Lt. Cdr. William W. H. Martyn, DSC (RN), aka Moose Martyn originally served with the RAF between 1936 and 1938, when he transfered to the Fleet Air Arm on August 1, 1938. He was a fighter pilot through-out the war and was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross and Bar as well as three (3) M.i.D.'s. He was virtually everywhere during the war and I have spent the past seven months creating a website dedicated to his service.

The webiste includes over 350 letters that he wrote home during the war as well as summaries of his time with each Sqaudron and carrier. He served in HMS Glorious, Ark Royal, Furious, Stalker, Argus, Indomitable and Ruler. There is a write up about his time during the war, "Bill's Story" and much more.

The site would be of primary interest to those of you interested in the Fleet Air Arm, RAF pre war, war letters, or just reading about a guy who "did his part".

You can find the website here: http://www.moosemartyn.com

If you have the time or inclination it would be great if you left a comment in the guest book after checking the site out.

    Regards,
    Taylor
