Most references say that the Curtiss Seagull was a biplane with a radial engine.

Anyone know what this one is?

This one on the photo was named SO3C-1 (Model 82) of the US Navy.

Two hundred and fifty SO3C-'s were to built for the Royal Navy as SO3C-1B, but these were delivered as SO3C-2C, in duty with 744 and 745 Squadrons at Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, briefly with 700 and 755 Squadron, based at Worthy Down, between October 1943 and October 1944.

The were named Curtiss Seamew I within the U.K. serials FN450/649, JW550/599, JX663/669 and JZ771/774.
