Hi all, I have just acquired the flying log book to 2208907 Flight Sergeant Joseph Wheeler, who was an air gunner in 106 and 83 Squadrons. He was on 32 raids and lost over Stuttgart on July 25, 1944 in his 33rd operation. Is there any relevant website or book I could obtain to find details of these raids recorded in his flying log book please?? Thanks for reading, regards Mark.

Yes. The ORB's (Form 540/541) are the first documents to search. RAF Commands Forum has a good search engine that will let you search for these, with links to "The National Archives" at Kew.
    AIR 27 Search (rafcommands.com)
You need an account there but it's easy to get one and you can download the PDF's for free. The Summaries are the Form 540 and the records are the 541's (or vice versa). You want both.
    Register (nationalarchives.gov.uk)
His logbook will give you the dates of the raids and also the Squadron (probably).

Next you want the "Night Raid Reports" These for night raids.

Night Raid Reports – Bomber Command History (lancasterbombers.net)

The Daylights are harder to research but "doable". For those you need the day raid sheets.

That's a start, but only a start. I can say with considerable experience that you might easily put a lifetime in and still not cover everything. You may want the ORB appendices at the Group and Squadron Level, Briefing documents, 100-Group activities, Boiten's books on the Nachtjagd, and so on.
