From one "veteran" to any other

    Hi Sapper, only just picked up your question. No Auster got hit by the Navy on my watch. But I saw it happen at the battle for Overloon; the Auster was hit by one of our shells and just disintegrated and fell in bits - quite shocking to watch.

    We were always briefed on attack targets, combined with the support to hand expected to achieve. As a tank crew each member had their individual tasks to perform backed up b-set Sqdn /ldr control or Troop/Ldr directio. further coded instructions were available on A-set m !!Sunrays!! Inst !Push-on before dark! regardless no Infantry, we solved that problem later in Normandy by removing the turrets off Shermans boarding an Infantry section calling !Kangaroos! No more lagging Infantry. We became the lagging Churchills. bob90
