German Pillbox

    During a recent visit to Norway, I found myself awaiting refreshments at the Stalheim Hotel, the vista from the hotel patio is fantastic.
    I started wandering to nget a better view point during the wanderings I came accross a trench cut into the rock and follwed it.

    Internally it was sound the view of the field of fire as you can see by the picture is superb.

    I have since learnt that the hotel was actually taken over by the German army.

    Hello,

    a strategic place for a heavy MG that is - the 'Lorelei' bunker ! Apparently named from the rock by the Rhine :)
