    You'd think they'd colourise them first to make more money!

    Some of the photos don't really have the feel of clandestinely-shot shots. Perhaps some German photos have been used as padding?

    Yes I think the article is subject to a bit of typical tabloid hyperbole. My great grandad compiled dozens of photos of his time in POW camps which he sent home to his family so I get the impression that, provided you weren’t taking pictures of any sensitive military stuff or making escape kit, cameras were permitted.
