I'm looking for an article published in the Supplement to THE LONDON GAZETTE - The Conquest of Sicily from July 10th to August 17th 1943, official report by General H. R. Alexander. I have the Italian translation but I would prefer to read the original. It was published in February 1948. Can you help me?

Oh yes my grandfathers respiratory bag and I have been retracing the steps from Portopalo up to Linguaglossa. Today we visited the monastery at Nicolosi as we have a story from one of the relatives from 242 battery visiting there before as assending up mount Etna late August 1943

Good shot! I used to live in Motta San Anastasia, Provincia Catania, "a few years ago." (50 years ago if I remember correctly.)

My grandfather also served in the REME. He landed in Sicily on 10 July 1943, was wounded shortly afterwards, and evacuated to Tunisia. After recovering and rejoining his unit, he served in various locations across Italy. I often wonder whether they may have known each other.

I have many pictures that he took on mainland Italy, lots from Anzio and recovery pictures.

Thanks, but I'm only interested in those in Sicily and especially in the Mount Etna area.
