Hello, HMS VANDYCK PoW

    Hi Hugh,
    Do you have any information on a Thomas Henry Parry (DOB 27/06/1917)? He is my grandfather and was an engineer on the aforementioned HMS vandyke. Like so many other mentioned above, was also a POW at Marlag and Milag Nord.

    I have some pictures that were taken in the camp, some quite moving ones of funerals taking place with both British and German officers present.

    Hi Sam and welcome,
    A quick scan of my files doesn't bring up his name but I will check in depth later. In the meantime have you obtained his service record.
    He was a T124X merchant seaman. He would have signed this agreement to work on ships taken into Admiralty service. His service record is held at TNA Kew in piece BT 390/103/33
    He also has a PoW file here: WO 416/282/521
