Help to identify This Uniform

I am in the process of researching my Uncles medals. I have two pictures of him in uniform- one in BD at his wedding and this one.

I was under the impression that he was in the REME.

 

Looks like Sphinx collar dogs.

Have a look at what Regiments had them.

Thank you. He was born in Gloucester but I’ve been informed he was REME.

The photo above would explain the KD uniform (Standard issue for India and Middle East), the lanyards are part of the Band musicians equipment.
The photo is dated 1928. Pre WW2 still wearing WW1 kit.

REME was formed in 1942.
