Hi, I bought picture recently because of the of the odd officer in the middle of the picture and wanted to know more. They are all Artillery officer. Any help would grateful. James
The middle signature on the back states Capt RCA (royal canadian artillery) as opposed to the other officers which are RA. Maybe a clue, i don't know? Best Rob
The Officer in the double breasted jacket and light trousers is named as D C HENWOOD. I found an attestation for this man; 1514545 HENWOOD Douglas Charles joined the RA in 1938. He was commissioned on the 25th October 1940. There are two possible Dougals Charles Henwood's, one born in 1903 and one in 1919. Henwood Douglas Charles born : 12/7/1903 Lambeth Died : 4Q 1980 Lambeth Henwood Douglas Charles born : 23/2/1919 St Germans Cornwall Died : 4 Q 1993 Torbay I would have thought that the Henwood in the photograph is the older of the two? Unfortunately no information on his unit. I'll see if I can find some of the other names Guy
Hi Guy, Thanks for this, it gives me a start on find anything else about him. Thanks for your help James
Seems rather odd to be wearing gloves when all the others aren't.... Made me think of those who had lost hands and using prosthetics.... Could he have been in a form of "hospital blues"?
