Good afternoon all. Have not posted in a while due to all leads kind of fizzling out and accepting I may have gotten as much of the large info as as I could, however as time has gone by a few things have popped up.

One such thing was finding the regimental journals of this http://thequeensownbuffs.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Journal-No-11-Autumn-2005.pdf

a series of stories from a soldier called Ken Clarke who mentions Harry in his stories. He joined with him from the home they were in in Kent and went off to India. He must have been good friends and I actually have photos of Ken and Harry.

Ken mentions that Harry became the MO’s truck driver. Last year I paid no heed to what MO actually meant but I realised this week I didn’t know. Medical Officer......

so, with that information in mind, would there be ways of finding out who that MO may have been? Would there be several of them? Would there be recordings etc?

    thanks
    Ross

An infantry batn would normally have one MO attached from the RAMC who would also have an orderly He would have a 15 cwt truck allocated for his kit and medical equipment/supplies.

Good morning all. Hope everyone is well. I have just come across these two great pictures of my great uncle I have never seen before. Listed on find a grave. I had checked a while ago but a distant family member appears to have updated this!

You may have already done this by now -- but if not yes you can as it is an open record - however not sure if TNA are doing copies at the moment. The charges will be a lot more than any researcher on this site is likely to charge, but as there are no visits at the moment and then severely curtailed when they are, it is worth enquiring as the record card will only be a few pages. These cards provide invaluable information including the locations and names of companies or businesses where the men are sent to work. It will be in German of course but that's easily overcome these days.

Good morning all, I hope this post finds everyone well and ready for Christmas. More pieces to my great uncles capture and story in the RWK. I have finally been sent copies of the POW card from the National Archives (9 pages in total sent. I have sent them to a friend in Germany to be translated so await that result). But I can see now he was captured in Cassel on 1/6/1940 so my long standing search for information continues....

    the search continues........

    Ross,
I had similar research to find the Battalion MO that my father would have served with. I found the detail in New Zealand's National Archives in a file for the Battalion "Field return of officers" army form W3008, that is completed weekly on Saturday. Maybe your TNA will have similar files?

Brilliant, thanks for the advice. I will research and see if there is anything similar which I can locate!
