Dear forum members we currently putting together a WW2 illustrated book with all profits going to charity. We have collected many WW2 related photos over the years, but don't have a decent image of the destroyer HMS Blankney, which the town of Nantwich adopted during Warship Week (January 31 - February 7, 1942). The aim was to raise £250,000 to pay for the ship's hull (they fell just short raising £224,944). In Crewe they adopted HMS Ambuscade and we have an excellent photo of this destroyer, but not one of the Blankney (only one grainy photo). Can anybody help us please?? Best wishes, Mark.

There are photos in the IWM collections here
Search our collection | Imperial War Museums

And also here (but one of those looks as though it comes from the IWM). Click on the photo for larger version.

CL1's photo of her dates to 1946 when she had lost her light AA weapons.
