Skip, may I seek another look up please, this one relates to Ralph Chalkley RAOC. Ralph initially joined the RNVR and was mentioned as part of the MEF at the Dardanelles. He transferred to the Army in 1915 and was mentioned again in Dec 1917 as a Lt Royal Artillery. He subsequently received the GM in Dec 1940 and an OBE in Apr 1945 for Burma so an impressive service record. The RAOC Gazette records him as having been mentioned 4 times but no dates. Are you able to find the other 2 mentions please.

    Regards John

Thanks for looking Skip, that means the Corps records are incorrect or the other 2 awards were in WW1. Back to the LG and its dreaded search engine then.

    Regards, John

Skip, I have 285717 Lt Eric Atkins RAOC listed with an MBE but the Army List of 1945 suggests he also has an MiD. I would be grateful for a look up to verify if he does have an MID alongside his MBE.

    Much regards, John

    Hello John,

I'm afraid I'm away from home (and my books) for a bit. If no one else has answered by the time I'm back I will of course look him up.

    All the best

    Hello Skip,

Im seeking a look up for RB Stringer RAOC who appears to have received a MID. Hitherto, his name has not popped up in any of the RAOC histories that list wartime awards. The next time you browse your Volumes of Honour Those Mentioned, can you see if his name is recorded therein please.

    Best regards, John

    Hello John,

Nothing I'm afraid - the only RAOC STRINGER was a double MiD recipient and has the initials AL.

    All the best
