Who served in 240th RE

 

Have you got his official records to know for certain with whom he served throughout the war, transfers were common? Copies of diaries run into hundreds of pages so you need to be specific on dates.

 

Hello, many thanks for the advice, I have got hold of my Grandad's service records and he was in 240 Company from 1942-46.

I'd like to start a conversation but can't see the option, I assume because I haven't created enough posts. Is 5 still the minimum amount please? Thanks

I've made 5 posts since the above, but still can't see the option to start a conversation sorry. Do I need to wait a certain amount of time please?

 

If you hover over the name of the member in their avatar it will show a new text box and within is the date of their last logged visit. Once you have posted five times - a measure to stop spam - you can send a private message (PM) to members using 'Start a private conversation' accessed via your avatar or their's. Such messages depend on their email given at registration is still valid. You can receive and reply to a PM already.

 

As David says, if you click on the person’s profile, you should see this:
