Hello, You have to disassemble the eye cups and top caps, the small metal bars which secure the eye cups can be unscrewed and withdrawn from the top caps , this allows you to lift off the eye cup and the rubber top caps on which they are mounted. At the side of each ocular tower are screw heads these can be used to adjust the focusing, set them for your eyes by focusing on the horizon then replace the rubber top caps and reassemble the eye cups. You will find the binocular serial number impressed on right side prism housing if you send it to me I will look it up in Hans Seegers listings to date the batch it comes from for you. Hi James ,thank you so much for that! NOBODY seems to know about this!! How do you know may i ask? I can tell you that the U Boat number is also marked underneath the usual "7x50":it is 758 and was brought back by a vet with some orther accessories from this UB taken from the ship then! I do have the certificate dated November 5,1945 and,as i said the UB # is engraved on the binos! Please E Mail me back directly at antoinedegramont.1@netzero.net Thanks again James. Antoine
Antoine, the information on how to focus the set is not that specialist although I grant you written info on the sets is not generally available. Unusual to see a UBoat number on binoculars, is the number you mention the number of the boat or the set ? I have looked in H.Seegers listings and can't see a three digit number allocated to a 7x50 U Boatglas, would be interested in seeing some photos of the set and related history. (Have sent you an email on the set.) best Regards js
Odelric, just a word of advice - the Mods prefer email addresses not to be displayed here. Best to send addresses by PM.
