    Hi WW2talk
I mentioned him before, but I have more info.
My Grandad, Sidney A MacKinney, Sapper,
1912831, served in Iceland in May 1940.
He was in 711 middx. County Council Company, general construction company.
    Royal engineers.
His Co. Was Major CJ Teychenne.
In 1940, he sent a book about Iceland to a Mr Morgan, of middx co. Co. Who also served in Iceland,
With a covering letter explaining what the Company were doing in Iceland and asking for news from middlesex.
It's held in the London metropolitan archive, but as I am in ireland, it's not accessible to me at this time.
Would anyone have any more info?
About the whole operation and my Grandads role?
    Thank you in advance
    Kerry
