Well, what this may be possible for you to figure out. But other questions might arise like "when", "where", and "WHY?" I came across this in a library book today, so if everyone is stumped I can reveal the answer. I am posting it in The Barracks because despite being WW2 technology it was put together after WW2. Also I couldn't find the "identify the vehicle" thread, oops.
It's the Barracks - anything goes! Not as neat as Archer but probably still easier to manouevre than the towed gun
Also gives me an excuse to post this from the Soldiers of Shropshire Museum: Unfortunately, their published history stops with the war. Probably a job for the regimental archives and journals.
Funnily enough I just asked the Shropshire museum and also the museum for the Scottish Horse to look into whether they used Archers in the 1950s. I am hoping they will have more details but thank you for that!
It is a prototype CMP Ford three-tonner with a 17-pounder gun mated to it, put together by the Arab Legion in 1953! Apparently it worked, but they did not decide this was a great vehicle that they wanted to put into service.
