Indian Army Concert Parties in Italy

I'm trying to find the war diaries or any further information of a number of Indian Army concert parties that were performing in Italy and Greece during 1945. These are referred to within the British Army Welfare Service records for CMF (WO 170/4110). The units are:
- No.8 F.D.S.
- No.11 F.D.S.
- No. 15 F.D.S.
I am guessing that these concert parties were attached to Indian Army Welfare.
Does anyone have any ideas what F.D.S. stands for in this context? Field Detachment Service? Field Sappers?
Or where my search for a related war diary might start? National Archive search unhelpful in this case.

FDS = Field Dressing Station.

 

thanks - I suppose it is possible that there were 3 Field Dressing Station concert parties on tour in early 1945, however, I'm assuming they'd be more useful to the Indian Army in their intended medical role. Will keep digging.

I think you will find that almost every unit probably had someone who was responsible for keeping the troops entertained.

My Dad's unit in Greece in 44/45 had a concert party called the "REME Rhymsters".

Thanks, You're right, but based on my research of AWS sources all Indian concert parties were referred to as F.D.S. in Italy and Greece - I've found six of them and an ENSA Indian party of professional performers. So I'm thinking FDS stood for something other than the usual Field Dressing Station in this context.
