I have , thanks to Drew at Kew copies of memos and papers relating to these units- many of which relate to use of Assam rifles, and inter- regiment/department/general/ infighting. There is also a very interesting bit about early "market research " among Japanese prisoners to find what propaganda methods were most successful. Apparently music was very important in creating nostalgia and subsequent surrender. Fascinating. pm me if you want to view them.

Are these the SOE files covering the IFBU?

A piece of trivia, the stag's head badge of the IFBUs is now used by the 15 (UK) PSYOPS Group.

They are at Kew and the only file I could find- mainly in 1944. Yet to learn how to post on this site-cut and paste maybe, Will explore further but not today! My fathers letters to my mother had the stags head and censor marks and never any indication of where he was. Only in the units in 1945, after Op Thursday finished. I Think he was with Marquess of Dufferin and Ava, as late in his life got involved in trying to find out truth about what happened to him- he would have loved the internet! I emailed the current 15 PSYOPS organisation to check if they had info but they weren't telling!
