Hi I would like to know, if there would be anywhere, that i can search through photos, of my husbands grandfather, sadly he died 18th April 1942, aged 35 in malta....hence the reason, my husband never got to meet him, or know what he looked like! HI Many thanks, I have this info, and picture,....could i ask for a lesson in the abbrievations please? could you tell me what bty, A.a, and 32 LT mean?? We have no actual pictures of this man, and thought maybe someone, would know, where i may be able to find some!!..long shot i know! Thanks Again Gina

HQ, 98th Bty: Falkirk 55th Bty: Rosyth 103rd Bty (277th, 278th Tps: Bishopton R.O.F.; 279th, 280th Tps: Kilmarnock) In September 1939, the regiment formed part of 51st AA Brigade. It served under command of 36th AA Brigade in the Edinburgh/Forth area in February 1941. 103rd Battery left on 14 February 1941 and 223rd Battery joined on 10 March 1941. The regiment was then sent to Malta and arrived before January 1942. It served on Malta until 4 November 1943 under 7th AA Brigade, when it returned to the United Kingdom. It arrived in France under 107th AA Brigade from 6-19 August 1944. It deployed for the Liseux/Risle Crossings on 25 August 1944. 223rd Battery moved to Dieppe under the brigade on 2 September, while the rest of the regiment was under the brigade at Abbeville and the Somme on 4 September.
