But is this really how they are? Isn't this sketch the fruit of the imagination of some German propagandist? Well, let us see for ourselves. The American newspaper "Life", n. 2/44 of January 15, 1944, carries the following announcement. 'New method of instruction in close combat' ''The General Clark Army School in Ohio has found a new method of educating soldiers in close combat. A request was made to Ohio prison for 25 murderers and criminals to be put in charge of the education of new recruits in the art of close combat. Our soldiers will certainly be burdened with the knowledge of how to kill in the fight against the Nazis. As a reward for passing on these instructions, these 'prison educators' will be given their freedom if they agree to join the army.'' Thus says the American newspaper, and it is our sincere belief that these shrewd killers are very well suited to take their place alongside the other Christian soldiers of the liberators - the savage blacks, the Moroccans and the white gangsters with whom the allies want to free Europe.
