    Hi all

I have found some more records of my grandads who served with the 52nd artillery and attached to the 8th indian in North Africa and italy from the Royal artillery museum. On his notes it says he was in the 74 general hospital and transferred to the 54 general hospital on the 18th of April 1944.i know he was in Italy at this point but I can't find any records for those hospitals etc.

Does anyone have any idea if there is anything that might have any records etc?

    Thanks

Hi This site is the most comprehensive guide to our Millitary hospitals and would be the place to start

It does however, raise an interesting problem, while 54 General Hospital does indeed appear to be in Italy (although there seems to have been one in India too), 74 General Hospital is shown as being in North West Europe. Do you have his actual service records?
Both (all 3) hospitals appear to have diaries at the National Archives that would help sort this out.

Yeah I already have his service records which confirm he was in italy
Hiya and thanks. Yes I paid for the Royal artillery museum info and his service records. He was definitely in Italy and attached to the 8th Indian division. He was at the "8th army school of artillery, Italy" at one point in Italy to be a number 1 course. His records show he was in foggia at one point

Have found Trinitapoli on the map but, as I suspected, no such place as Trinitape in Puglia or elsehere in Italy. I suspect the hospital went straight from Andria to Trinitapoli, which isn't far from Foggia.

    Hi,
i live near Trinitapoli and i'm trying to know something more about the British Hospital that was there. Did you find any more information about it in the last years?

    Thanks

    Hello Wloszka,
Can you tell us what you already know about this hospital and where you found the information?

Unfortunately my only source at the moment is the entry on the website you quoted above (Hospitals WW2 - Scarlet Finders). Since it is my intention to start a research with my high-schools students, I was looking for evidence on the Internet and I found your thread.
