    "Prior" photos -

THE BRITISH ARMY IN NORTH AFRICA AND THE MIDDLE EAST 1940-1947
IWM E18873 : Object description - Original wartime caption: THE GENERAL PRIEST, another new British weapon. It is a 105 mm Howitzer on a self- propelled chassis. Having a high turn of speed and being easily manouvred, it is proving a most effective weapon. One of these guns, it is claimed, has already knocked out 14 German 88 mm anti-tank guns and 2 enemy tanks. Taken by Sgt. Groom. Catalogued 2d11m1942.

THE BRITISH ARMY IN NORTH AFRICA AND THE MIDDLE EAST 1940-1947
IWM E18874 : Object description - Original wartime caption: The first thought of most men when they come out of battle is for a good wash. Here is one member of a tank crew who had been in the battle for a week, indulging in his dearest wish to the moment. He is Tpr. Porter of Leek, Staffs. Taken by Sgt. Martin. Catalogued 2d11m1942.
