Jacob was on the news again yesterday. This time in New Zealand which was brilliant, I've been trying to create some interest there all year seeing as he's walking in the footsteps of one of New Zealands Fighter Aces. British youngster to retrace escape route of Kiwi World War II pilot
Sadly we've now had to postpone the Dunkirk Challenge until the 81st Anniversary of the Dunkirk evacuations. Jacob has now raised close to £25,000 in just over 12 months so we couldn't do nothing this year. We decided to commemorate the end of the Battle of Britain on it's 80th anniversary and Jacob's 7th birthday by doing an even harder challenge to remember 'The Few'.
Thank you to everyone who donated and by way of an update... Jacob completed his Battle of Britain challenge walking 35 miles in two days wearing his flying suit from the former RAF Manston site to The Battle of Britain Memorial at Capel le Ferne. He’s now raised over £30,000 to date for RAF veterans. Here’s a video of what he described as the best day of his life when he crossed the finish line.
I saw that too Clive. Glad to see Dad let the boy do all the talking. Well done to you both, Andy you must be and should be so very proud.
That feels like a lifetime ago Clive. Allan Scott passed away towards the end of last year, such a shame as Jacob was hoping to meet him again this year.
I have just seen Jacob on Look North. A very confident looking young man. Well done. Children today are quite awesome. Very articulate and self assured. Mike
