The battlefields in Tunisia are largely untouched 80 years later. I saw these Jerry Cans on the Medenine battlefield. Can anyone ID them? Curious that one of them has a '1951' stamp.

The 1951 WD one is British, the rest are wartime German. I could rationalise it in Libya, where we had a presence post-war, but I'm not aware of any British military involvement in Tunisia in the 50s.

Might the British Jerry Can have been “borrowed” and taken into Tunisia by a member of the local Arab population?

Medenine is not far from the Libyan border so most likely a Brit jerrycan post-war. But I'm guessing.
