    Hi all
Registered here to pick some brains......

I am currently working through the War Diary of the 109th Workshop and Park Company Royal Engineers from the 1/5/1940 to the Dunkirk Evacuation

On the day the phoney war ended and the German offensive started I have the following entries, the first is clear, the second curious
    and one any ideas?

10/5/1940 05:00 Mareouil (Near Arras) Considerable enemy aerial activity in the direction of Arras
13:00 Information received by telephone that this is "J.l. Day"

Quotes are as per the War Diary, unfortunately it doesnt say who the informant was!

Anyone come across this "code name"?

    Possibles it might be

a - Start of German Offensive
b- Start of BEF planned move into Belgium
    c - Something else?

    Any help appreciated

    Dave
