    Nice little diary that.
Interesting to read the differing views of the French regards Petain & DeGaulle.
Thought the description of the gum chewing French lass who slept with the SS quite funny.
    I liked this bit.
Another memory of Roulers is the smuggling of four Polish girls over the border from Lille for the officers dance.
    :p

Came across this today, which some will find interesing reading. It covers the period from D-day through to December 1944.

Thanks englandphil I'm enjoying this diary, very much.

I have a big/family interest in '50 Div' and as you may know, the 6th Battalion, Green Howards, 69th Infantry Brigade, were in the 50th (Northumbrian) Division and were in the first wave of the assault at Gold Beach on D-Day. So, I'm 'lapping this up'!

Note: CSM SE Hollis of this Battalion was the only winner of the VC on D-Day.

    Cheers,

    Steve.
