Only four inches so far this storm, 1/6, but enough to use the Honda. If you look close enough on the photo of the close up of the snow you can see the tracks of the resident squirrel IMG_4821.jpeg IMG_4822.jpeg IMG_4823.jpeg resident squirrel.

We have 7-8 pairs year round. Always enjoyable to watch the fledglings each spring/summer grow and mature.

My Lady always has a heated bird bath for the winter months as it is a great way to attract birds. The ponds/lakes freeze over, so all the birds come for water. There are always many Robins which are not seed eaters, but they come to the bath.

In a span of one-two minutes this morning, we had Robins, Sparrows, Blue Jays, a Flicker, and a Red Belly Woodpecker getting a drink. I caught this picture of the Flicker leaving as the Red Bally arrived, with a Robin and Sparrow watching.

My all-time favorite was this picture that I posted here years ago. Sixteen Blue Birds at the bird bath during a snow storm.

We had four Blue Birds last week, but didn't get a picture.

I bring our feeders in each night because of the Trash Pandas. They have broken a few feeders over the years.

IMG_4852.jpeg IMG_4855.jpeg IMG_4851.jpeg IMG_4854.jpeg IMG_4857.jpeg Thank goodness the temperatures are getting back to seasonal for this time of year. Supposed to get up to 40° by Wednesday. Otherwise I’ll take the 30’s any day over those last four days of single digit temperatures. Here we have some of the four inches that recently fell along with the pups. They don’t seem to mind how cold it is. IMG_4852.jpeg IMG_4855.jpeg IMG_4851.jpeg IMG_4854.jpeg IMG_4857.jpeg

Last week was hard with -7ºF (-22ºC) one morning while drinking my coffee. Getting back to normal temps this week, but there is still snow on the deck.

It was -10ºF (-24ºC) last Thursday and it is now 64ºF (18ºC) today. My Lady and I enjoyed a G&T and a Negroni on the deck with ice still on the lake.
