I am looking for veterans of the above action that took place on 13th/14th of July 1943 involving 3 Commando in an action to secure the Malati bridge north of Lentini,Sicily. This was to ensure the bridge would be intact fo the move northwards of the 8th Army. The action was successful and Monty instructed that the bridge be called "3 Commando Bridge" and a stone commemorating this added to the bridge stonework. I would like to hear from anyone involved, or their relatives and friends. Colin.
