Are we talking about 1942 December 30 - Special service vessel FIDELITY (R, 2,456t), probably torpedoed by U-boat, North Atlantic it was carrying Landing craft vehicle LCV (10-11 tons) - No.752, 754 (total 2), able to carry 36 troops or 3t vehicle

Marine.John Palmer PLY/X 3323. Who died age 21. on 1 January 1943. Son of John Henry Palmer,and Mary Elizabeth Palmer,of Harrington.Cumberland. Remembered Workington Harrington (St.Mary) Churchyard Cumbria.
I am also looking into this ship, my fathers brother was Able Seaman Thomas Moreland who was lost when the ship went down. Have you managed to find any additional information? Jonathan
