I am researching D-Day Marshalling Camps across Hampshire for a project called Hampshire’s Hidden D-Day (HHDD), managed by Portsmouth City Council and The D-Day Story museum and funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
My initial focus is on Marshalling Camp A5 (Padnell, Queen’s Inclosure, Waterlooville), on land which is now the responsibility of the Forestry Commission/Forestry England.
    I am looking specifically for:
    • Photographs or images - personal or military
    • Maps
    • Aerial photographs
    • Letters, orders, diaries - personal or military
    • Relevant leaflets, posters, or documents
    • First hand accounts/oral history
I am, of course, consulting relevant archives and official resources etc but any forum member help would be much appreciated.

The places names do not appear here. There is a thread with inclosure, but that is not relevant.

One mention in Post in: War Diary - 238 Petrol Depot, RASC

See Post 198 which may refer to the area, not the camp itself in: Sword Beach. The author Trux may know more. I searched online with: "Camp A5" site:ww2talk.com and this was the only one id'd.

I see you have appealed and added to various Facebook groups.

I will alert Trux to this thread using a Private Message (PM).

    PM explanation

If you hover over the name of the member in their avatar it will show a new text box and within is the date of their last logged visit. Some members "flag" their interest in a thread, which means they get a system alert. Once you have posted five times - a measure to stop spam - you can send a private message (PM) to members using 'Start a private conversation' accessed via your avatar. Such messages depend on their email given at registration is still valid. You can receive and reply to a PM already.
