I am looking for information on a female spy that spent time in Germany and Russia. Her name was Emma May Leach/Emily Mcgowen. She apparently was visited at the old peoples home by the MOD often and they also attended her funeral. All this information came to light whilst my partner was investigating a case for one of Emilys/Emma's distant family members.

Also information on the type of work she would of done would be very interesting.

    Thanks

Some new information has just came to light having spoken to the old peoples home. Apparently her fiancé and partner was shot in the back of the head in front of her whilst they were on active duty in Russia and the periods of time she spoke about were late 30's and into the 50's.

Dave, SIS are very protective of their agents and obviously don't release any information about them. However, I understand that they may look favourably on requests from close family members for basic information.

It might be worth contacting Professor Keith Jeffery, who wrote the official history of SIS, he's an approachable chap and might be able to steer the family in the right direction.
