    Hi
My father was in the Middlesex Yeomanry with 2nd Armoured Divisional Signals when he was captured 8th April 1941 in Mechili, Libya. Sadly he was one of many who refused to talk about his experiences, so I've been trying to put together his movements during the first half 1941.
That said, I have his service record, so I know he arrived in Egypt by Troopship on 31st December 1940. Was captured 8th April 1941 in Mechili, then initially transferred to Capua, Italy, subsequently arriving in Sulmona 23rd June 1941. I also have some Red Cross Prison Camp reports for those camps that he was kept in through to April 1945.
I'm interested in the movement of 2nd Armoured Divisional Signals between January and April 1941, but particularly, the movement and experiences of POW's in the period between capture on 8th April and arriving in Sulmona in June 1941.
I believe there may be surviving war diaries for January and February 1941, but any help with info and movement of 2nd Armoured Divisional Signals and especially the movement of POW's from Mechili would be much appreciated...
    With Many thanks
    Cameron
