Bring back pictures please people. :)
I'm always all 'Beltringed out' when Detling comes along, could do with seeing more of what it's like.

    Cheers,
    Adam.

Thanks to everyone displaying at this show, it was a cracker and me and my family truly appreciate the effort put in to entertain us. I've posted around sixty photos taken on the Sunday over on my humble blog. If there's any photos of you or your group feel free to grab a copy for your own use.

Great photos - would have liked to have gone, but being away last week wiped out this weekend for me, sadly.

Good stuff chad - particularly nice to see that 'Crashed' ME109 again - I last saw it at the original Kirby Hall multi-period dos in the 90s, only there it'd apparently ruined an allotment and was being constantly guarded by the local LDV - one of the nicest bits of reenacting I ever saw.

Yeh that 109 was just parked without anything going on near it, which was a bit odd. Displays did seem a little down on last year but the quality was top notch.

Did hear a few rumbles from some reenactors, not sure if it's the usual whinging on the side or a growing complaint but I think it might be time for the organisers to at least revisit their "business model" for want of a better phrase.

Grumbling is par for the course, but I do know a fair few that participate in pre-20th century periods. I'll see what they thought.

Please, WotnotChad, in your blog you show communnication equipment in this photo http://6milphil.files.wordpress.com/2009/08/dscf2067.jpg. As my hobby is the Shortwave Listening, do you able to indicate the technicals especifications of these equipments, designations....or a closer view.?

    Thanks in advance, my friend.

First time visit for me to this military/re-enactment show at Detling in Kent. Similar in some ways to War & Peace but not as big and in some respects not as well organised, but must say I had a very good day. Quite an extraordinary range of periods from Viking through to Gulf War and some very good displays, plus some oddballs too.

A few photos from the day to give everyone a flavour of it. Highly recommended if you are in Kent over the next few days or can go next year.

    Thanks for the pics.

Thought at first that you caught some of my old "Honey" type tanks but on closer inspection I see that it had a very small turret ring on which the machine gun traversed whereas my turret was completely clear of any such projection and was actually very much like a bren gun carrier inside.

Glad you had a good time and trust that the oddballs you mention didn't include any SS wanabees :)

I did the Saturday and Sunday there with my WW2 living history group, 43 Recce - had a good turn out of members and vehicles, and veterans too who are always the highlight of the weekend, just wished I was staying the whole three days but work beckoned. I'll hopefully upload my photos in the next few days - hope everyone likes Light Recce Cars, Daimler heavy armoured cars, Daimler Dingos, Universal Carriers, Jeeps and motorcycles!
