Sad state of affairs when Veterans who have left their blood on the battlefield have to fight for their rights.http://www.theglobeandmail.com/commentary/its-time-to-restore-the-social-contract-with-our-war-veterans/article13629517/
I would be interested in hearing from any Veterans on the topic of compensation for wounds and/or pension benefits.
Randy Nothing different about this...Kiplings poem come to mind - it's tommy this and tommy that - but when the mustard hits the punka - it's Mr Thomas please....... on my medical failure for recall at Korea and idiotically enquiring about a pension..I was met by a great deal of laughter from people who thought that an 88mm was some kind of ice cream.......but I am still profoundly deaf .. Cheers
Brian After the Korea episode I said to hell with them as I can manage but the Suez thingi finished me off and we took off for Canada- haven't regretted a day and managed six years University and an M.B.A. and became a Managing Director - my eldest son was also a Managing Director - he is now a management Consultant - my Daughter is also Managing Director of a Division of an Investment Bank in London - youngest son is doing research into Genetics - I asked him what that was all about and he said it was study of little things but I wouldn't understand it - so I still don't know what it is - but he has three months every year to get over finding too much cancer in children.....so we truly did manage Cheers - love to the saintly one Tom
Brian, Very good to hear from you. What you went through is simply amazing. Kudos for keeping your sanity when dealing with the government hacks. Tom, I shall call soon...it has been sometime since we last spoke. Cheers Randy
