I was speaking to my Dad last night and one of the
first things I always ask is brought anymore bits for
your collection...his flat is more like a museum. I can
honestly say you could spend an afternoon there
and you still wouldn't get to see half his collection, my
kids love it...Guns, swords, daggers, badges, models,
pictures, books, the list goes on. Well last night he
phoned to ask if I could look at a badge for him to see
if I could identify it, I done a search using all the
information he gave me and it turns out its a Luftwaffe
Ground Combat Badge and it looks to be original, at the
same time he picked up a group of 5 medals with the
war medal having the oak leak for mentioned in
despatches, unfortunately no paperwork to say who
they were issued to...and how much did he pay for
both items? 55 pound...lucky so and so. If the Luftwaffe
badge does turn out to be original the cheapest I saw
on the net was 80 pound and the dearest was 285
pound, not bad for 10 pound. He has spoken to the local
commanding cadet force officer to see if they would
like to come round and have a browse...I am sure
    he could sell tickets :D:D.

    Kieron,

Great to hear that your father has a large collection of Militaria.

I hope he is security minded as sometimes the wrong people get to hear of such collections.

Just something to bear in mind.

    Regards
    Tom
