    Paul -
as Niccar so rightly said - we did try and hurry up the Liri Valley - but there was a few of the enemy in front trying to stop us - anyway - if he has any sense at all - he should try and live to 150 as I hope to do - that's the only way he can get all his money back from the Government - the stingy bar stewards......
    Cheers and all the best

Had a nice day with him and my mum today. My daughter always likes a trip to see her grandparents.

I told him all about your good wishes. Hopefully he will have a chance to read them soon, as he is planning to get a wi-fi laptop and get 'netted up'.

He was once more thrilled with his portrait Soren had done, so this is him with it.

Why are you guys all so surprised at Paul's Father looking so good - we had very good training in the 8th Army all about survival -Salerno - Ortona - Cassino - Anzio - Gothic - then the real tough one in Austria - were all training exercises in the art of staying with it and determined to just fade away when the time comes - hopefully when the Government has given us all our money back...that will take a while !
    Cheers

Tom - my dad appreciated all the comments from his fellow vets here. He particularly smiled when I told him about the 'delay' in coming up the Liri Valley which you and Niccar mention.
