My mother served as a wartime medic in the British Army — looking for unit/context info

I’d love to learn more about my mother’s service during the Second World War. She worked as a medic, and I’m proud of what she did. If anyone can recommend reliable sources (books, archives, websites, or specific record collections) about British Army medical services and women in wartime medical roles, I’d really appreciate it.

A quick search here id'd a hundred threads which mention "medical service" and two hundred when searching for "nurse".

You use the phrase 'medic', that could cover multiple roles. Or was she a nurse?

Best wait till you get her Service Record, which should identify which unit(s) she served in and usually where.

A key reference site that will help for where hospitals were is: Hospitals WW2 - Scarlet Finders

Does the family have any documents, medals, diaries, photos etc? They can all contain clues that will help.
