A member on the Birmingham History Forum found some photos in a charity shop in Worcester and is trying to find out as much as he can about them.
The photo attached is of a young NVR Lieutenant ( and probably his Mum in the sidecar) astride a motor cycle first registered June/July, 1925 in London. Another photo shows him in uniform.
The original photo is only 2"x2" .I rember someone is white hot on motorcycles on this forum. Can he put a name to it? My Thanks in anticipation...arkrite.

I'm pretty certain that the v-twin engine with the long magneto drive cover behind the rear cylinder is a J.A.P. (J. A. Prestwich) unit. The problem is that they were a proprietary engine manufacturer and their products were used by many.

I can't see a top 'flat tank' frame rail and 1925 is quite early for a saddle-tank bike which pushes me in the direction of Matchless. Something like a 'Model J' sidecar outfit.

Unfortunately, even Peter Hartley's Matchless history has few pictures of v-twins from this area and catalogue illustrations at the time were notoriously tampered with. There seems to be an extra silencer when compared with this (export) advert.

I can hawk it around a couple of motorcycle forums if you like.
