    Hello,

I am trying to find the children of a deceased WW2 FEPOW, My Uncle Ernest Sydney Vaughan.
His wife was Ellen Mildred Vaughan (died in 2006, Sandwell Birmingham)
    Children-

    Alan Richard Vaughan born 1938
    Brian Anthony Vaughan born 1939

I suspect that one of the siblings died but not sure about the other.

There is a chance that one of the brothers is alive or was alive until recently (within the last 10 years)

Any help tracing them would be great.

    Thanks

    Dan

Yes that is correct. I have two maiden names for the mother as I think she may have remarried at some point, maybe. She is listed on some documents as 'parkes' and on others as 'slater'.

OK so do you have any other details for them at all, small details can and do often help narrow down the search parameters, did they marry (names, dates, where), types of jobs, Xmas card address's etc all help, a looking it may be that since the 1950's they may have moved anywhere in the UK or even the world. Emigration records are minimal into the 1950's and until today as passenger lists for aircraft are not kept as they were on ships prior to WW2.

We sometimes find today that Facebrookythingy (I think thats what its called) can be used, we have had recently good responses from it for the type of search you are looking to do

Have also been down the facebook route, didn't have much success but one Brian Vaughan (wrong guy)did put me onto a Birmingham ancestry site which threw up a lead for Alan Vaughan. I managed to track down his telephone number but he wouldn't co-operate. Didn't sound like he was the guy as he wasn't interested. I got the telephone number off of 192.com. Along with a load of other number for alan and brian vaughans. I alled most of them who said that they were not an Alan or a Brian, so I'm not sure how accurate that information is.

Lenard is definatley not a brother of ernest. In fact, I should have said that ernest is not his correct name. He was born Sydney Ernest Vaughan but other than is birth certificate, he swaps the ernest and Sydney round the other way. Calling himself Ernest Sydney Vaughan.

Its strange that there is another family with same names in a similar area.

OK - so there is a family tree for Leonard but dont get your hopes up too much as it states:

    Leonard Joseph Vaughan

Marriage: Sep 1937 - Birmingham, Warwickshire
    Spouse: Eva Beatrice Smith
    F: James William Vaughan
    M: Emily Avery

From this tree is shows Leonards siblings as :

    Sidney Ernest Vaughan
    1911–1941
    BIRTH 15 FEB 1911 • King's Norton, Worcestershire
DEATH MAR 1941 • Birmingham, Warwickshire, England

    William Henry Vaughan
    1904–1991
BIRTH 6 AUGUST 1904 • Birmingham, England, United Kingdom
DEATH JUL 1991 • Birmingham, Warwickshire, England

    Jack A Vaughan
    1916–1916
    BIRTH 1916
DEATH JUN 1916 • Kings Norton, Worcestershire, England

England & Wales, Civil Registration Birth Index, 1837-1915
    Name: Sidney E Vaughan

Parishes for this Registration District: View Ecclesiastical Parishes associated with this Registration District

But that would tie him into the tree details as above

Yeah so both those trees are wrong.
Syd was born in marylebone London and his family moved to Somerset. He then moves to Suffolk to live with his aunt. Marries Ellen Birmingham.

Syd's mother is called Esther Harriet cook and his father is Charles Vaughan.

OK - as mentioned earlier all these little details will help

    Charles Vaughan
    Birth: 1870 - Somerset
    Marriage: 1897 - London
    Spouse: Esther Harriet Cook
    F: James Frank Vaughan
    M: Emma Lumber

I thought from your last post that his wife was called Esther Harriet and that she was a cook, but I assume in fact her full name is Esther Harriet Cook

    added
It states - Charles Vaughan and unknown woman. - I would suspect a daughter at her wedding
