    Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone knows what the figures are for casualties for the western Allied armies per month from June '44 to May '45? Google failed me.

Can give you figures for just one Battalion, 5th Cameron Highlanders per month, and 51st Highland Division total for June 44 to May 45.

I think a great deal of the information might be locked away in these books...

    The Army Medical Services

There's the ability to search etc, but the information is wide ranging and so covers a lot, actually finding precisely what you are after might occur, but a whole lot of other information would have be sifted through in order to find it, I suspect.

... Starting at the front pages, there are links to the Appendix tables at the back, there things are broken down in various ways etc, detailing lots of statistics, but naturally ;-) it's a bit of a hodge-podge of variety etc.

This is total of Canada, by year, still looking for the “by month” numbers. Number are also broken down by “theater”

What I am specifically interested in is the months of the fighting in Normandy vs the rest of the campaign, because I was muttering to myself... I mean musing... about the amount of attention generally devoted to Normandy vs the rest of the campaign.

The Cameron Highlander figures have about a 50-50 split between June-September 1944 (being generous and including September and Arnhem in the total) and October '44-May 1945.
