    7th May 1941

BOWMAN, John G, Ordinary Telegraphist, P/JX 214575, killed [HUNTINGTON (ALL SAINTS) CHURCHYARD]
HUGHES, Edward, Ordinary Signalman, C/JX 231532, killed [GREENOCK CEMETERY] [CWGC lists as died on 6th or 7th]

Their vessel was HMT Norwich City. No indication that the trawler was damaged, so probably killed ashore (during air raid on Greenock?). Any ideas?

    Regsrds,

You're probably correct. The Reports of Deaths - Naval Ratings shows place of death for both these Ratings as 'Greenock' rather than 'At Sea'. Bowman (ADM 104/128) and Hughes (ADM 104/132).
