    Hi,

It seems good aerials of DZ 'B' for Varsity are hard to come by so if anyone has a decent stash or know where they might be obtained let us know.

    Regards ...

    Hi Helen,

I have just seen your messages in the thread after heading about Arnhem in the news today and thinking about my uncle Richard (Dick) Tawn, and seeing your notes about him. Richard had a sister Mary who died 2023 and a much younger brother Norman who died in 1983. I am the second son of Norman. I have a substantial amount of material about Richard's death past down to me. I haven't looked at it for a while but can happily dig it out and share with you. I am the Jonathan Tawn at Lancaster University if you google me, and you can my email from there. It would be lovely to know more from you, as I didn't know Richard was engaged.
    Best wishes, Jon

    Hi Jonathon,
Really lovely to see your message. I also put some info on Ancestry in the hope of finding Richard’s family. Sorry I wasn’t able make contact with Mary during her lifetime. Our visit to Richard’s war grave for the 75th anniversary of his death was not possible at the last minute in 2020 due to covid so it is still on our agenda. I’ll look up your email as it would be great to find out more. I did quite a lot of research in 2019/2020 but your grandparents would have had the telegram as next of kin and the detail of his death. Despite 50 happy years of marriage from 1964 she never forgot Richard. She said your grandparents visited his war grave but she wasn’t able to. We promised her we would go on her behalf. There is a photo of all the RA graves on a site somewhere so you can see his. Best wishes Helen

    Hi.
I have organised a trip with my group, the families of the 7th Parachute Battalion, to go to Hamminkeln for the 80th in March next year. We have spaces available and are looking for families of other units involved to hopefully join us

    Alex Collins.
