Truck looks good kev, softskins and artillery can be a real relief after incessant tanks can't they. I wanted a Studebaker Kursaka (sp??) , but thought id give this one a whirl. I hated it, it drove me round the bend. Not helped by by 2 year old pulling a wheel off, Daddy's lorry, CRASH!! Its all wrong the cab is to far back and the platform to far back. There was no location pegs so just had to judge it by the cover on the front box. Kev
Heres a bit of messing about I was doing. Its an airfix cheapy (very). Fit was dreadfull. Its inspried by the Cologne cathedral Panther. Really please with the terrible Airfix tracks here. Took a lot of patience to get them to do this. Kev That'll be this one then Kev. http://www.ww2talk.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=844
Must be the most photographed knocked out tank of the war, I've got pictures of it from every angle. Shows how out of touch with WW2 I'd become, never seen it until I joined this Forum. Spent too long in the Trenches.
That'll be this one then Kev. http://www.ww2talk.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=844 Thats the one. Not bad for a Airfix 3.99 kit.
Not much you can say about the quality of the dragon kits. I think thr only fault was the vinyl tracks (it came with solid track option but couldnt be bothered). Just lovely models. Really good value for 9 quid. Standard Kev stuff Humbrol oils. Pastals brushed on give a dusty summer look.
still going. Dragon Elephant. Italia Matilda. Humbrol with pastals, watercolour pencils. Very happy with these two. The elephant is a lovely thing, cant stop picking it up and playing with it and the detail in the Matilda for a fiver kit is just stunning. Really nice. went together great. Will get anothero f these, do it Russian or German Africa Korps colours. Kev
Kev, Do a Matilda in the Malta stone-wall camo, that'll see how good at painting you are. I was tempted actually. It doesnt look *that* hard. It looks like its applied with a brush, so hard edges I like, Getting faithfull colours is prob the hardest bit. Did they have anything else, Valantines or Crusaders????
I dont think anyone does a Vickers light in 72nd. Prob shouldnt habe made them in 1 scale buts that another point....
Not plastic, but certainly there must be somebody making them in resin or metal, maybe Milicast or Cromwell, off the the top of my head.
There ya go : http://www.hannants.co.uk/search/?FULL=JB1009 Hang on! It's 76th.... curses, they lied to me!
GM474 Light Tank Mk VI, wearing the distinctive Malta camouflage, on a firing range, 24 March 1942 Search for Malta on IWM site and there are Matildas, Mk VIs, Bren carriers, trucks, all in this camo scheme. There is an A13 Cruiser but in plain sand.

Don't think I've ever seen a scheme suit a particular vehicle so well, it actually looks like an 'outhouse'. This is going to mean Resin....... Edit: You've added more shots of it/one very like it, great stuff... wonder if anyone does a 1/16th version, hmmm.

Kev, The Italeri Matilda, any pitfalls or problems I should look for when making mine? Yours looks nice, makes a change to see a green one. I'm wondering whether to do plain sand or Soviet snow camo .
Not really it went together real nice. Normal drill, I did the frames first. The intake vents are hinged (on the real thing) so make sure you put them on the right way, i think I did some wrong, they hinge forward I think. tons of colour options. I think at least one Russian scheme is inc. The track guards are prob the worst fit over the frames so make sure the frame are well in and snug so the guard hang down vertical. Not a big deal. Kev
