TRYING TO FIND FAMILY OF -

PFC Gordon J. Strom, Serial 3758425

Uwe Benkel in Germany of Flugzeugabstürze Saarland und Umgebung Flugzeugarchäologie
Is trying to locate the any members of the family of the above soldier

    Need Help in the U.S.:
A friend of ours found a silver bracelet in the woods near Saarbrücken/Germany. The name on it was Gordon J. Strom. He was probably a soldier during WW II and killed at that spot.

We would like to return the bracelet to the familymembers. Through the Internet we found a PFC Gordon J. Strom, Serial 3758425, who was killed during the war. He is buried on a cemetery in Minnesota.

Who is able to help with some more information?

More details: Strom was in F Company, 253rd Inf.Rgt, 63rd Inf. Div. He was killed in the Bübingen/Ger. forrest near Saarbrücken on 12. March 1945

    Thanks

Hi, Do you know the specific cemetery in Minnesota? If so acquiring the phone number and calling may go a long way. Cemeteries will have next of kin records and may contact, or attempt to contact them for you.

There are also cemetery search sites out there that may help.

I am so disappointed. I managed to track down and contact this G.I.'s brother, I told him the story and he told me "I will pass on that." and hung up!

I have passed on his address to Uwe in the hope that a letter might give him a change of heart or give another family member the chance of having them.

In his defense I recognized the fact that he is a very sick old gentleman and it was probably more than he wanted to deal with.

I am pleased to report that contact has been made with Gordon Strom's grandson and the artifacts will be returned to the family in due course.
