Looking through old photo's I came across this one. I have absolutely no idea what this is all about, is it a shell or bomb? Is it WW1 or WW2?

I would of course like to add a description to this photo, any offers from our experts?

    Cheers, Peter

The man on the left appears to be an officer in Battle Dress, so more than likely WW2.

Oh dear - I went there in 1994 & saw the replica bomb.
Completely forgot it looked like that.

Wow, thank you VP. You seem to have cleared up my mystery photo.
My uncle was on Malta at that time, a leading wireman on the destroyer H. M. S. Kingston.
I can now add much info to the photo.

    Once again, thank you all.

I have to add, that this forum never ceases to amaze me.
From a photograph with no information at all I now have full details of the incident that I can add to my uncles time in Malta.
If there is any interest I have quite a few photographs of his time on Malta. These are photographs from his personnel album and they will not have been seen before.

    Once again thank you.

Peter, I live in Malta currently - so any such photos you put up on the Forum would have at least one interested viewer!

    Cheers Pat
